DUTIES:
The Mental Health Service Line of the Wm S Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist with qualifications in geriatric psychiatry to join our clinical team. We are home to a geriatric psychiatry fellowship, a Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center, and have a close relationship with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Our VA team includes an energetic and innovative staff of psychiatrists and other mental health clinicians. The position will have important educational duties as well as opportunities for clinical research. Performance improvement work is encouraged and supported.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current license.
- Applicant must meet the physical standards established for this position.
- Applicant must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(s) and 7407(d).
- Required to be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and to be Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified.
