Under the general supervision of the DCC Psychology Manager (Psychology Director) in collaboration with the Correctional Services Manager (Regiona! l Chief), this position is responsible for the overall administration and provision of psychological services within the Region. This oversight is accomplished in accordance with the clinical priorities set by the Psychology Director and regional priorities set by the Regional Chief. Clinical services to be provided include: direct services to offenders in individual and group settings; psychological consultation services to probation and parole supervisors and agents; participation on designated review committees; consultation with psychiatrists, field and institution administrators, as well as other Corrections staff involved in planning the total program (e.g. medical, emotional, developmental disability, educational) of a given offender; staff development and training; clinical supervision to interns in professional psychology consistent with American Psychological Association (APA) and Association of Psychology Post-Doctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) internship st! andards; participation in clinical supervision and training to! maintain, further develop clinical skills; participation in clinical research as directed by the Psychology Director; and other assigned duties as directed. The Chief Regional Psychologist administers psychological services to ensure compliance with State and Federal guidelines and standards

This position requires specialized professional skills and competence measured by a Wisconsin license as a Psychologist by the Wisconsin Psychology Licensing Board.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of the th! eory, principles and practices of the appropriate psychology subject matter areas, including the psychology of personality, developmental psychology, psychopathology, psychophysiology, learning, perception, motivation, thinking, emotion and interpersonal relationships; knowledge of the preceding general areas as they apply to understanding and rehabilitating criminal behavior; theory, principles and practices of clinical psychology, including intensive psychotherapy, individual, group and family/marital therapy, cognitive behavioral psychotherapy, cognitive psychotherapy and behavior therapy; basic psychological assessment techniques; theory and practice of psychological consultation; psychological factors in emotional and mental disorder, social and educational deviation, and other varieties of human maladaptation; effect of minority group membership, educational, economic, social and emotional deprivation on behavior; techniques of clinical supervision and training; skill! in analyzing and integrating assessment information and communicating ! it in written psychological reports, including making appropriate recommendations, treatment plans and/or referrals; methods of scientific inquiry and research, including research design, statistical analysis and the preparation of research reports; knowledge of American Psychology Association (APA) Ethical Principles of Psychologists, APA General Specialty Guidelines for clinical and forensic psychologists, APA and APPIC requirements for implementation and administration of an internship in pofessional psychology; applicable Wisconsin Administrative Codes, and Chapters 51, 55, 880, 938, 971 and 980, Wisconsin State Statutes.
Start at $60,965 per year (Pay Schedule and Range: 12-12); possession of an approved Doctorate in Psychology or related field adds up to $10,983 per year. Pay for current state employees will be determined based on transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan. A six month probationary period is required.
