DUTIES:
The Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI is currently seeking a full-time Psychiatrist. Board Certification/Eligibility; U.S. Citizenship, and full and unrestricted license are required. Duties will include assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients on an outpatient basis with an emphasis on substance ! abuse which would include working in our subzone clinic. We have a large and busy outpatient clinic and you would be joining a group which includes three Psychiatrists board certified in addiction medicine. Certification in addiction medicine is not required for the candidate but would be preferred. Call is required (equivalent to 3 weeks per year). The VA is affiliated with the Medical College of Wisconsin and a corresponding academic appointment involving teaching, supervision, and research may be possible based upon qualifications and interest. We have an active AODA fellowship with 1 slot filled for the coming academic year with opportunities available to be involved with that as well as training Psychiatric Residents and Clerkship Students.   • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree result! ing from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current license.

  • Applicant must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(s) and 7407(d).
