This may include both severely mentally ill consumers as well as those dealing with substance abuse issues. This may also include a variety of treatment modalities including individual, couple, family, group and intensive outpatient therapy. Treatment may be conducted alone or in tandem with other DHHS treatment staff members. Consumers range in age from young children to the elderly. This position is also responsible for the support and education of significant others and family members of the consumers. This position provides services in accordance with Wisconsin Administrative Codes DHS 34, 35 and 75, as well as best-practice and professional ethics and boundaries. Clinical responsibilities include intake and emergency detention (Chapter 51) assessments and court appearances if necessary. SCHEDULE Unit: Mental Health/AODA Days: Monday - Friday Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Hours Per Shift: 8 Shifts Per Pay Period: 10! Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Provide outpatient assessments in accordance with DHS 35 and DHS 75, plan interventions and conduct individual, family and/or group therapy. Complete court reports and communicate with the court and other government or private agencies as required for emergency detentions, guardianships or protective placements. Develop, monitor and adjust treatment interventions to meet the needs of the individual consumer. Provide services (including intensive services for individuals and families) in a variety of settings including office, consumer homes, hospitals, law enforcement facilities, etc. Treatment planning and monitoring will be conducted in tandem and consultation with other DHHS treatment members. Maintain accurate and t! imely clinical records in accordance with department, state and federal standards including Chapter 51, DHS 34, DHS 35, DHS 75 and others. Provide education to consumers and their support system. Provide emergency mental health duties on an as-needed basis. Provide collaboration with law enforcement, Department of Corrections staff, schools, employers and other treatment providers as requested and released by the consumer. Coordinate consumer use of other department programs and outside community resources. Participate in clinical collaboration and in-service trainings to maintain standards and certifications. Participate in face-to-face supervision and clinical collaboration a minimum of 60 minutes per week with an AODA supervisor, psychologist or psychiatrist. Coordinate and participate in staffings for consumers involved in other department programs.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field from an accredited program required. The following State of Wisconsin Credentials are required at time of hire: Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor. Must possess Substance Abuse Specialty Authorization, Substance Abuse Counselor in Training, Substance Abuse Counselor or Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor credentials. 3000 hours post degree supervision and ability to accept insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare also preferred. Interactions and Communications Provides specialized information and/or recommendations to others regarding an area of expertise. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid Wisconsin driver’s license. Proof of minimum liability insurance coverage. Wisconsin Lice! nsed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor. Substance Abuse Specialty Authorization, Substance Abuse Counselor in Training, Substance Abuse Counselor or Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor credentials.
