Example of Du! ties:
1. Receives referrals of voluntary and involuntary clients with difficult mental health and behavioral problems and conducts assessment of treatment needs and intervention needs. 2. May provides psychotherapeutic treatment in a variety of settings to individuals, couples, families, and groups to resolve social, personal, developmental, behavioral, and/or mental disorders. 3. May develop and implement a treatment plan to meet the needs of the client utilizing psychotherapeutic treatment methods. 4. May interpret nature of illness and prescribes course of treatment to clients and families. 5. May participate in client staffings, reviews, and multi-disciplinary team discussions to formulate diagnoses and develop treatment and service plans. 6. Serves as a liaison and consultant to staff and other Human Services agencies. 7. Provides community education and public speaking on various community mental health issues and related topics. 8. May perform clinical crisis! intervention and emergency intake evaluations for clients of ! all age groups. 9. Provides court related clinical and other duties such as assessments, testimony, reports, and recommendations. 10. Responds on a 24-hour basis to First Call For Help, police, and Children's Center emergencies involving assigned clients. 11. May complete documentation for billing of services and maintains mandated clinical documentation. 12. Establishes and maintains effective working relations with clients, families, staff, other agencies, and the general public. 13. May team with social workers and others in non-licensed department programs to provide in-home and community based assessments, counseling and intervention as referenced in Wisconsin Statutes, Chapter 46, 48, 55, 88 and 938. 14. Performs emergency government duties as assigned in event of Waukesha County Emergency Government declaration. 15. Performs other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS Essential Knowledge and Abilities 1. Considerable knowledge of psychopathology, mental health principle! s, and techniques of clinical therapy. 2. Working knowledge of the signs and symptoms of reactions to psychotropic drugs used in the treatment of mental disorders. 3. Working knowledge of techniques to identify clients with alcohol or other drug abuse problems. 4. Working knowledge of computerized department program software, Internet access, and database, spreadsheet, and word processing programs. 5. Working knowledge of human service organizations, mental health, and other community resources. 6. Working knowledge of applicable codes, rules, statutes, and regulations. 7. Working knowledge of state and federal confidentiality rules and regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996. 8. Ability to interpret psychosocial and DSM IV diagnoses to individuals and families. 9. Ability to utilize word processing, database and spreadsheet, and program specific applications. 10. Ability to participate in multi-disciplinary decision ma! king and treatment planning. 11. Ability to develop treatment plans and! to provide psychosocial and psychotherapeutic treatment services to individuals, families, and groups. 12. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, families, staff, other agencies, and the general public. 13. Ability to respond appropriately to mental health emergency situations and utilize crisis intervention techniques and procedures. 14. Ability to complete clinical documentation and write reports as needed. 15. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in psychology (clinical, counseling, educational,) counseling and guidance, social work or closely related area. Candidates with a masters in Social Work must have Advanced Practice Social Worker status as a minimum. 2. Two (2) years of post bachelor work experience in psychology (clinical, counseling, educational), counseling and guidance, s! ocial work or closely related area.

Position: LTE Clinical Therapist Unit : Inpatient Location : Waukesha County Mental Health Center Supervisor: Jeff Lewis General Unit Description The Mental Health Center provides Inpatient Psychiatric Services to Adult residents of Waukesha County the Mental health Center is also responsible for the alternative psychiatric hospitalization of involuntary admissions for Waukesha County

On-going, Non-Benefited Position, Variable Hours 8-30/Wk. The Inpatient Services are provided by a multidisciplinary team including County and contracted personnel including Psychiatrists, Medical Doctors registered nurses, AODA counselors, psychologist, psychiatrist, Social Workers and support staff. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Clinical Therapist’s area of practice is within Social Work of the Inpatient unit of the Mental Health Center This position acts in the capacity of Menta! l Health Professional. These specific duties and responsibilities inclu! de Will provide assistance to inpt Social Work as available. Assistance can include: - Completing Social Assessments for newly admitted patients - Completing or reviewing Comprehensive treatment plans - Conducting Psycho- educational groups - Providing assessments for people who walk in with a urgent request for assessment to the MHC - Completing Patient Assistance Documentation for medication for discharging patients - Assisting with discharge coordination of patients May coordinate with other hospital placements authorized by Waukesha County to assure continued need for inpt services. May coordinate alternative hospital placements of children and adolescents who meet a threshold for an emergency detention. Will conduct utilization review activities which include liaison with inpatient staff and third party payers for people hospitalized Will obtain and provide clinical information to third party payers for people hospitalized at the Mental Health Center Will coordinate wi! th HHS fiscal staff to help process third party claims Will document Utilization Review and report information and recommendations to appropriate internal committee.
Collaboration with State and Local Agencies Description of Essential Functions : 1) Provides assessment, service facilitation, symptom management, crisis intervention, individual and group therapy. 2) Facilitates Comprehensive treatment planning 3) Assists with Discharge Coordination 4) Participates in quality improvement and coordinating committee activities. 5) Maintains consumer records, activity tracking and all documentation in accordance with Medical Assistance and licensing guidelines. 6) Provides clinical consultation to unit staff and provider agencies. 7) Provides and coordinates mental health services and authorizations for services for a group of consumers diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. This entails on-going, consistent contact with the consumer, the consumer’s family and! other members of the recovery team. 8) May provide clinical review and! coordination between payers and inpatient staff. (Utilization and Review) Qualifications: This position requires a Masters Degree in psychology, social work, guidance and counseling or other closely related field and WI licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with 3000 hours of supervised clinical experience.
