The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) is an independent and not-
for-profit statutory body which administers public examinations in Hong Kong. Our scope of
responsibility extends to administering over 200 international and professional examinations.
We are looking for talented people to join hands with the HKEAA family in contributing to the
provision of valid, reliable and equitable examinations and a range of assessment services to
meet the educational and societal needs of the community. Applications are now invited for the

Research Intern/Fellow (Ref: ATR/03/014)
To cultivate local educational testing talents and strengthen the cooperation with academia, the
Assessment Technology and Research Division (ATRD) of the Hong Kong Examinations and
Assessment Authority (HKEAA) is offering a four to eight weeks’ research work for Doctoral
students in 2023. The admitted applicants will work with HKEAA researchers to conduct a
research project.
What to expect:
To carry out a research project from project initiation, literature review, data collection, data
analysis, report writing and sharing of results under the mentorship of ATRD, with deliverables
of an internal research presentation, and possibly a conference submission and/or a paper
submitted for publication
Duration:
Four to Eight weeks between June and August 2023. (The internship window may be adjusted
for the convenience of the admitted applicant with prior approval from HKEAA)
Who may apply:
Doctoral students currently enrolled (or graduated in 2023) in programmes related to
psychometrics, educational measurement, psychology, statistics, or data science at any local
university

and (3) a copy of recommendation letter (refer to template attached with application form) from
Doctoral programme supervisor(s) by quoting the subject of “Application for Research

Applications would be considered until the post is filled.
Interviews will be arranged to shortlisted applicants, if needed. Successful applicants will be
notified of selection decisions by mid June 2023. Applicants not notified within 10 weeks from
the application review date should consider their applications unsuccessful.
