Essential Functions
Individual counseling: educational, vocational and psychological. Group counseling. Crisis intervention.
Duties and Responsibilities
Individual counseling: educational, vocational and psychological. Group counseling. Crisis! intervention. Provide referral resources to students, faculty and staff. Consult with residence hall directors, residence hall assistants, colleagues, deans, departments, faculty, staff, student groups and community as needed. Provide crisis intervention services for students, faculty and staff. Work with the Counseling Center consulting psychiatrist: Make referrals as needed, consult about these referrals, attend the case review meeting. Accept other duties as requested by the Director.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Masters or Doctoral degree in a psychology/counseling field and experience as a generalist with young adults.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience with counseling in a college setting, expertise with one/some of the following issues: cross cultural counseling, eating disorders, sexual violence, career counseling, alcohol and drug abuse treatment, and/or prevention education.
