Position description
The Department of Behavioral Health at Mayo Clinic Health System - Franciscan Healthcare in La Crosse, WI, is seeking a Medical Director who will also be an Adult Psychiatrist. This unique opportunity offers the option for a joint appointment with Mayo Clinic Department of Psychiatry and Psychology in Rochester, MN for patient care, research or education. La Crosse is 75 miles from Rochester. Experience in the area of integrated behavioral health is strongly preferred.
The Medical Director is responsible for participating in a triad leadership model which includes an Operations Administrator and Nurse Administrator. This position is also responsible for providing a comprehensive array of treatments to our patient population in collaboration with physicians and other staff.
Mayo Clinic Health System - Franciscan Healthcare Behavioral Health Services is a growing and robust interdisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Neuropsychologists, Nurses, and Therapists. This group provides evidence-based diagnostic and treatment interventions to children, adolescents, adults, and families struggling with mental health and/or substance use disorders. Care is provided in primary care clinics, an outpatient behavioral health center, hospital for consultations, and four residential programs.
A generous compensation package is offered, including a salary guarantee. Other benefits include: No night or weekend call, a minimum of four weeks of vacation (based on previous experience), a generous annual CME fund, Mayo Clinic pension and 403b, health, dental, disability, term life, and accidental death/dismemberment insurance, malpractice insurance and full relocation expenses.
License or certification
Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the state of Wisconsin and be board certified/board eligible in general Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry.
