- Provide assessment of mental health treatment needs on persons requesting services; conduct clinical screening interviews; conduct intake assessments.
- Evaluate and treat a variety of mental health problems using appropriate techniques and approaches; conduct therapy sessions via face-to-face or distance counseling modalities when appropriate.
- Provide individual, group and family therapy to clients in STRONG program.
- Collaborate with client’s outpatient providers and school staff to coordinate continuity of care as patient transitions into and out of STRONG program.
- Provide updates regarding client’s progress to STRONG nurse or psychiatrist.
- Develop and implement, in collaboration with clients or their parents (if under the age of legal consent), a treatment plan with measurable goals.
- Participate in clinical supervision and case consultation, and complete case reviews in a timely manner.
- Participate in meetings of Christian Family Ministries; participate in in-service training and staff development programs. Participate in weekly staffing of patients.
- Function and document clinical activity according to the policies of the department and in compliance with the state administrative code.
- Maintain complete and accurate case records; prepare reports and correspondence as required; complete insurance forms and authorizations when indicated in a timely manner.
- Attend appropriate continuing education conferences.
- Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.
- Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients’ treatment.
- Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in clients’ status.
- Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
- Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.
- Learn about new developments in his/her field by reading professional literature and establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new services as needed.
- Conduct all services and therapeutic activities from a Christian-based clinical theological perspective. Other related duties as assigned.
- Obtain certification in nonviolent crisis intervention within 60 days of hire.
- Obtain certification in CPR/first aid within 60 days of hire.
- A Master’s degree in Human Services field.
- Must hold a current LPC or LCSW license.
- Ability to work cooperatively with teachers, WELS professional church workers, as well as area resource people and agencies.
- A high degree of responsibility in maintaining confidentiality in all matters pertaining to work.
- Health and physical stamina necessary to carry out responsibilities.
- Tactful, dependable, and courteous personality.
