The Tournament Operations Specialist is responsible for providing consultative operational support and guidance to all assigned Korn Ferry Tour events. Focused on creating a world-class experience for all constituents on-site including players, fans, sponsors & volunteers. This person will serve as the Tournament Business & Sponsor Relations liaison with several PGA TOUR departments including Rules, Player Relations/Administration, Volunteer Excellence & Fan Engagement, PGATE and ShotLink.

Manage PGA TOUR Operational Policies and Tournament Resource Center, ensuring all events & TOUR departments are aligned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree required with concentration in Business, Sports Management, Communications or related field preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a golf-related business environment with operations experience preferred; Prior tournament operations golf experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Able to safely operate a utility vehicle such as, but not limited to, golf carts, utility carts, and shuttle carts
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Support adaptation and implementation of PGA TOUR Operational Policies & Timelines
  • Maintain and manage the Tournament Resource Center, ensuring all events & TOUR departments are aligned
  • Coordinate and manage all advance planning calls, required checklists, branding and site plan review, TOUR policies and protocols
  • Work with tournaments and their volunteer leadership to manage all aspects of PGA TOUR Volunteer program, creating a high-quality experience for volunteers as a standard to promote growth while continuing to support tournaments in effective outreach to find new, diverse volunteers in each market
  • Support all aspects of a tournament’s volunteer program with specific focus on technology, requirements, committee structure, appreciation/retention, and scheduling.
  • Work closely with TOUR ShotLink and TEL teams to support the operational aspects of tournament week scoring and umbrella sponsor onsite branding needs
  • Work with each tournament to develop a comprehensive Stake and Rope plan to be approved by Advance Rules Officials
  • Support the Korn Ferry Tour Equipment Trailer Technician in determining location, setup and details for each tournament
  • Work with Tournament teams to ensure all Security, First Aid, and Evacuation Plans are up to standards and implemented onsite
  • Work with tournament to ensure operational standards are met onsite each week, including but not limited to branding, course setup outside the ropes, volunteer setup, on course water and snacks and starting/scoring tents
  • Support the Korn Ferry Tour Physical Therapy staff including location each week, communication and support onsite
  • Work to develop operational efficiencies and implementation of new technologies to support Korn Ferry Tour events
  • Lead cadence of Pre-Tournament Operations Calls with various entities to ensure alignment on all operational areas leading into tournaments
  • Assist Rules staff with Player evacuation if needed (set-up, staging, and implementation)
  • Support with equipment ordering of any required branded material for the upcoming year.
  • Provide feedback to tournaments as part of the annual Tournament Report process
  • Distribute operational best practices through the Tournament Resource Center and other department communications platforms.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of PGA TOUR Q-School
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support PGA TOUR Americas Operational staff in implementing consistencies from Korn Ferry Tour Operations where applicable
  • Various other duties during tournament planning cycle and execution as determined
  • Make site visits to tournament as needed in the planning process
