More complete informations about this job opportunity please read the description below. Hours/Schedule: Tues, Thurs, Friday. Optional schedule: Two 10-hour days 7am to 6pm or two 8 hours days plus 4-hours on Friday.
Position located in the O! utpatient Office of the Behavioral Health Department. Assists the psychiatrist/provider with all activities related to a patient/provider encounter; this includes activities prior to , as a result of, and after the encounter. Provides screening, triage, and case management assistance under the guidance of the psychiatrist (LPN or CMA does not qualify employee to complete assessments).
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Must have successfully completed a certified medical assistant training program and maintain certification thereafter OR Must have and maintain current WI LPN.
Experience: Prefer 1-2 years CMA or LPN experience. Prefer 5 years experience in a psychiatric office setting. Knowledge of psychotropic medications. Ability to recognize them, explain basic side effects, explain risks and benefits. Ability to work with disorganized or confused patients in order to obtain adequate historical information for the psychiatrist. A! bility to review and summarize psychiatric records and issues.! Understanding of the dynamics of personality disorders and other psychiatric conditions. Ability to handle patients who may appear hostile or aggressive. Understanding of scope of practice, legal and ethical issues effecting outpatient mental health practice. Demonstrates keyboarding skill and computer knowledge.
