Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
A Psychiatrist is needed in central west part of Wisconsin for upcoming vacation coverage dates. The schedule will be Monday-Friday, 8a-5p, working on Outpatient clinic and rounding on the weekends in the Inpatient unit. The physician will perform evaluations, consult and medication management. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health pr! ofessional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
