Degree and area of specialization:
M.D. or D.O. or equivalent, Board certified in Psychiatry.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least one year of clinical experience in the treatment of psychiatric disorders preferred.

Documented clinical, educational and administrative experience beyond residency training.

Experience of at least three years as an academic faculty physician is preferred.

Demonstration of professional standards of behavior that allow the Associate Program Director to serve as a role model.

Experience and credentials appropriat e for CHS track, a non-tenure SMPH track focusing on clinical excellence. Appointment above assistant professor level on this track requires meeting established SMPH criteria per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.

Board Certification in the appropriate specialty and subspecialties, as applicable.

License or Certificate:
Wisconsin medical licensure

Active appointment in good standing at the UWHC. (Associate Program Directors are encouraged to maintain active clinical practices in their area of expertise at the program's primary teaching site.)

Position Summary:
Responsibilities include providing care for a variety of adult or child outpatients; supervision & teaching of psychiatry residents, fellows, interns and postdoctoral trainees, medical students and graduate students; providing care across both inpatient and outpatient settings; service on appropriat e department and medical school committees and participation in other department teaching as well as community service as appropriate.

This position will serve as an Associate Program Director for the University of Wisconsin Psychiatry Residency, reporting to the Program Director for all duties related to residency training.

The position of Associate Program Director is complex and requires a broad set of skills and abilities. There is a set of duties and responsibilities that are common to all programs.
