Marshfield Clinic seeks a full-time Neuro-Hospitalist Physician position at its Center located in Marshfield, Wisconsin. The Hospitalist position shall be located at 1000 North Oak Avenue, Marshfield, Wisconsin 54449.
The position requires a minimum of a M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent; successful completion of Neurology residency training; certification or eligibility for certification by the American Academy of Neurology in Neurology or by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology & Psychiatry in Neurology or by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Neurology; the appropriate licensure to practice medicine or eligibility for licensure to practice medicine from the State of Wisconsin; and eligibility for hospital and health plan privileges.
The Neuro-Hospitalist Physician will act as physician of record for patients admitted to the hospital with neurological issues, including but not limited to acute stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), acute intraparanchymal hemorrhage, primary brain tumors and other neurologic conditions. The Neuro-Hospitalist will also provide management of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) with a close working relationship with Endovascular Neurosurgery. The Neuro-Hospitalist will also provide consultation services to the physicians of record that admit patients with subacute/chronic stroke, seizures, metastatic brain tumors, acute confusion and medical patients with neurological complaints. The Neuro-Hospitalist will also provide primary care to neurologic patients admitted to the ICU or MICU. The Neuro-Hospitalist will refer patients to medical specialists when required.
