Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Rogers Memorial Hospital, the leader in Behavioral Health Services, has a part time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position available on the ! Day/PM shift. This position is located at the Oconomowoc campus on the Child/Adolescent Inpatient unit.The licensed practical nurse performs basic nursing activities in the care of patients so they may achieve or regain, and then maintain, the maximum possible physical, emotional and social function. Role functions are limited and governed by the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act, the Wisconsin Administrative Code, Standards for Nursing Practice, and the corresponding policies and procedures of Rogers Memorial Hospital.Job Duties & Responsibilities: Assist with patient care: Observe, document and monitor each patients psychiatric and physical changes and responses to treatment under the direction of the registered nurse (RN) Identify potential patient care problems, abrupt changes or impending instability in the patients condition, and exercise appropriate intervention leadership to prevent adverse patient outcomes Assist patient care based on established care plans, Hospital po! licies and procedures, and unit standards of care, incorporati! ng the patients age-specific and cultural needs as appropriate. Demonstrate safe and correct medication administration by: Know the various program schedules and assist patients in maintaining these schedules Care for patients hygienic and physical environment needs and for patients personal belongings Employ established systems to monitor the location of all patients in assigned areas. Accompany patients to meals, monitor their behavior, and record their food intake, as directed Act as an advocate for patients/residents Assist in the patient orientation process Adhere to the nursing department and Hospitals Standards of Nursing Practice and Standards of Patient Care Participate in projects, tasks and continuing education opportunities to improve professional skills and unit/department systems Actively assist in patient milieu Other duties as assignedThis is a great opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team including: Psychologists, Psychiatrists, RNs and Social Wo! rkers
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Licensed Practical Nurse licensed by Wisconsin State Board of Nursing License must be in good standing with the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing Previous psychiatric experience with children, adolescents and adults is preferred The ideal candidate will bring a patient-centered approach to care along with creative problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal skills.
