GHG is looking for a Physician Assistant and a Nurse Practitioner to provide services for the Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center in Mauston, Wisconsin.
! Available Position: Physician Assistant (PA) and Nurse Practitioner (NP).
Physician assistants providing services under this contract must live with 25 miles of SRSTC and be available for after hours call.
Place of Performance: Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center in Mauston, Wisconsin 53948.
Basic Scope of Work (includes but it is not limited to):
Physician assistants are expected to provide health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling, patient education, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses within the secured environment maintained by SRSTC.
The physician assistants supplied under this contract will perform a number of medical services that fall within their level of certification. These would include obtaining patient's medical history, performing physical examinations and recording pertinent patient data, performing routine diagnostic studies, performing routine therape! utic procedures including suturing and wound care, instructing! and counseling patients on preventative care and use of medications and treatments, recording patient progress notes, performing evaluative and treatment procedures necessary to provide appropriate responses to life-threatening emergency situations. Physician assistants will see patients in the facility's Skilled Care Unit as well as in the Health Services Unit (clinical) setting. The Skilled Care Unit is where SRSTC patients requiring 24 hour care are housed. Physician assistants will assist the Medical Director with medical reviews. The physician providing medical direction to the facility will oversee the work done by the physician assistants fulfilling the contract. Physician assistants providing services under this contract must live with 25 miles of SRSTC and be available for after hours call.
The nurse practitioner will provide psychiatric services under the supervision of the facility psychiatrist. The nurse practitioner will provide approximately four hou! rs of support services per week to the psychiatrist by providing routine follow-up care to psychiatric patients and other duties as assign.
Work Schedule:
1. Physician Assistant: approximately 15 to 24 hours per week
Physician assistants providing services under this contract must live with 25 miles of SRSTC and be available for after hours call.
2. Nurse Practitioner: approximately 4 hours per week
Period of Performance: One base year (12 months) and it may be extended for another two years, upon acceptable performance and all necessary state reviews and approvals.
Position Requirements/Qualifications
License: The PA/NP must be license/certified in the State of Wisconsin.
Education: Must have graduated from an accredited NP/PA school.
Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience.
